Overview & Development
Son Tra Cooperative, established in 2018 in Hong Thai (Na Hang), evolved from a farmer group founded in 2013 by Dang Ngoc Pho.
Starting from abandoned tea hills, the cooperative spent five years restoring and experimenting with Shan Tuyet tea cultivation.
A major turning point came in 2019 when the tea gained market recognition and was selected as an official gift for high-level government diplomatic events.
Today, Son Tra is a leading model for sustainable highland tea development in Vietnam.

Production Principles
- No pesticides
- No chemical fertilizers
- No artificial additives
Terroir & Natural Conditions
Located in the misty highlands of Na Hang, the tea region benefits from a unique microclimate:
cool temperatures, high humidity (80–85%), and frequent cloud cover throughout the year.
Processing & Craftsmanship
The tea undergoes a meticulous five-step process: withering, fixing, rolling, drying, and aroma roasting.
The final stage — aroma roasting — is the most critical, requiring precise temperature control based on artisan experience.
- Traditional techniques combined with modern equipment
- Consistent quality and enhanced productivity
- Distinctive deep aroma and long-lasting aftertaste
